Dementia and Alzheimer's Training

DID YOU KNOW?

10,000 Baby Boomers a day turn 65 years old?!

All of us know or will know someone with dementia or one of it's other diseases. Why would you not learn what to do with someone who has this devastating diagnosis.

What is NCCDP?

NCCDP is the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.  An organization that for over 20 years, have empowered those who work in the eldercare community with knowledge, compassion, and empathy, striving to make a positive difference in dementia care.  Check out their certification courses here: https://www.nccdp.org/

What is a CDP? Certified Dementia Practitioner!

When you take the seminar " Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care " with our team, you are on your way to applying for your certification with NCCDP! Taking this seminar can also get you some CEU's if you have a qualifying license and live in a state that offers them.  *ask us about who qualifies*

Can I take the course just to have the information without becoming a CDP?

Absolutely! We provide the seminar to anyone who wants the information.  Becoming certified through NCCDP is another step after the seminar for those who qualify!

Becoming a CDP

Who qualifies to become a CDP?

This certification is open to all healthcare professionals, front-line staff, clergy, and other medical professionals who work in and around the geriatric healthcare industry and have at least one full year of paid experience.

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible.

– Attend the ADDC (Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar)

– Have at least one year of paid experience in the geriatric healthcare
industry

– Qualify for their position with either a license/certification, degree

OR

– Meet state regulations for that position without a license/certification or degree

What does the CDP application with NCCDP cost?

The cost for new applicants is $160.00.

If you have an ASSOCIATION DISCOUNT FORM you received from an ADDC Seminar presented at a conference & wish to complete the CDP initial application, the fee is $80.00.

For Corporate Group Applicants, the fee is $50.00 (minimum group size of 10 people)

What does the CDP Certification represent?

  • The CDP certification represents that the professional has received
comprehensive education in the dementia care field.
  • The CDP commits to ongoing professional development through NCCDP Staff Education Week or other educational opportunities and re-certification every two years.
  • A CDP certification demonstrates your dedication to excellence in memory care.

The CDP certification is not a profession; rather it is a compliment to the professional credentials and training you already have obtained in your chosen profession and your choice to work with the geriatric profession.
